KARACHI, Feb 19 (Reuters) -India captain Rahul Dravid became the fourth Indian and eighth batsman to score over 9,000 runs in one-day internationals on Sunday.

He achieved the feat in the third over of the Indian innings in the fifth and final one-dayer against Pakistan, driving Mohammad Sami to the cover boundary.

Dravid needed just two runs to reach the milestone.

Dravid joined compatriots Sachin Tendulkar, who leads the all-time highest aggregate with 14,146 runs at 44.20 from 362 matches, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammed Azharuddin in achieving the feat.

Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is second in the all-time list with 11,251 runs in 356 one-dayers.

Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya is third with 10,512 runs in 354 matches.

The Bangalore-based Dravid has also scored 8,244 runs at an average of 57.65 in 97 tests.
