    Date: September 18 1996

     Performance: Batting 1st, Rahul made 46 but India were bowled out for 191. Thanks to the

     Indian bowlers, Pakistan were all out for 136 and India won by 55 runs. Rahul was the highest

     scorer of the match.

     Match: 3rd ODI in the Sahara 'Friendship' Cup vs. Pakistan

     Ground: Cricket, Skating, and Curling Club, Toronto

    Date: February 13 1997

     Performance: Batting first, SA made 278 in 50 overs. Play was delayed due to rain and India

     were chasing a revised target of 251 in 40 overs. The highest scorer of the match, Rahul cracked

     a solid 84 off 94 balls with 5 fours and a six but could not save India from losing by 17 runs.

     Match: Final of the Standard Bank International series vs. South Africa

     Ground: Kingsmead, Durban (D/N)

    Date: January 9 1999

     Performance: Batting 1st, India made 257/5 in 50 overs, thanks to Rahul's magnificent knock of

     123* at run-a-ball with 10 fours and a six. The 2nd innings was delayed due to the fusing of a

     light tower and NZ were given a revised target of 200 in 39 overs. Though India lost by 5 wickets,

     Rahul was chosen Man of the Match for his brilliant performance with the bat.

     Match: 1st match of the 5-ODI series vs. New Zealand

     Ground: Owen Delany Park, Taupo (D/N)

    Date: January 16 1999

     Performance: After restricting NZ to 207, India chased down the target in just 43 overs and won

     by 5 wkts. The highest scorer of the match, Rahul made 51 off 71 balls with 5 fours and a six. 

     Match: 4th match of the 5-ODI series vs. New Zealand

     Ground: Eden Park, Aukland

    Date: September 14 1999

     Performance: Put in to bat by WI, India managed only 225/7 in 50 overs, Rahul top scoring with

     77 of 86 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. India ended up with a huge 88 run win as WI were

     dismissed for a low 137. Rahul was the highest scorer of the match and also took 4 catches.

     Match: Final of the 3-ODI DMC Cup vs. West Indies  

     Ground: Cricket, Skating, and Curling Club, Toronto

    Date: June 27 2001

     Performance: India were chasing 235 and Rahul's splendid 72* off just 64 balls helped India win

     by 4 wickets. Rahul was chosen for the MOM award over Ganguly who had scored 85 runs and

     had also taken a wicket.

     Match: 3rd ODI of the Coca-Cola Cup vs. Zimbabwe

     Ground: Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo

    Date: July 6 2002

     Performance: After bowling SL out cheaply for 187, India were in trouble at 33-3. Once again,

     Rahul came to the rescue with his 64 off 95 balls. His patient innings helped India win by 4 wkts.

     Match: 6th ODI of the Natwest series vs. Sri Lanka  

     Ground: Edgbaston, Birmingham

    Date: July 16 2004

     Performance: After winning the toss, India were in a spot of bother at 65-3. Rahul's spectacular

     104 off just 93 balls ensured India a decent total of 260/6. India's bowlers did the rest as UAE    

     were bowled out for 144 and India won by 116 runs.

     Match: 2nd ODI of the Asia Cup vs. UAE

     Ground: Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium (D/N)

    Date: July 31 2005

     Performance: After bowling out WI for 179, India achieved the target in just 36 overs. Rahul

     top-scored with 52 off 65 balls with 7 fours.

     Match: 2nd ODI of the Indian Oil Cup vs. West Indies  

     Ground: Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium (D/N)

    Date: October 25 2005

     Performance: Batting 1st, India piled on a huge 350/6, with skipper Rahul making 85* off 63

     balls with 8 fours and a six. India won by 152 runs. Rahul was chosen for the MOM award over

     Tendulkar and Pathan, who scored 93 and 83 respectively.

     Match: 1st ODI of the 7-ODI series vs. Sri Lanka  

     Ground: Vidarbha C.A. Ground, Nagpur

    Date: November 28 2005

     Performance: After restricting South Africa to just to 221/6, India seemed precariously placed

     at 83-3 but another captain's knock from Rahul ensured India a 5 wicket win and also a 2-2

     series draw. He scored 78 not out off 106 balls with 10 fours.

     Match: 5th ODI of the 5-ODI series vs. South Africa
